From what I understand, this is due to the code of FallOut 2. I run RP on a very recent CPU and the CPU usage is also through the roof. I didn't disable SingleCore though.Ĭoncerning the CPU usage, I think you can't do anything about it. On my current run of RP, I did the same: ddraw.ini/.dll, default resolution (640x480), no Direct Draw 7. What version of Wine do you use ? Some versions made some part of FO2 laggy (some versions before 1.1.13 iirc). But I did run FO2 vanilla on a laptop with a Intel Core i3-2365M Dual-Core 1.4 GHz CPU and it ran fine.

Ok, I didn't run RP on such an old CPU with a recent Wine.

For example, if you want to use the Windows 7 version of the Restoration Project, you will have to run regedit in your wine installation to remove the following key otherwise the game won't even run: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\AppCompatFlags\Layers\

There is nothing else to do but please note that I don't use any graphic mod to have a better resolution.įeel free to ask me more questions, you may run into some bugs with some special configurations (just don't PM me, other users may be interested in our discussion). Nowadays I have to run winecfg beforehands to have ddraw.ini and ddraw.dll overridden to be first the native version then the builtin one: here is a screenshot. It worked except the sound and especially the music kind of saturated. I did nothing really special, I always played FO1 and FO2 with Wine since Windows XP came out.īack in the 2000s/early 2010s with the original CD version I just had to run wine without any configuration. r/imaginaryfallout - A subreddit for Fallout artwork. r/wasteland - A subreddit Fallout's spiritual ancestor, Wasteland. r/FOnlineReloaded- Multiplayer game based of Fallout 1/2 r/falloutpnp - A subreddit dedicated to Pen and Paper fallout

I hope you enjoy the mod as much as I do myself! I have tried to keep her in line with the other NPCs in the game, although being young, physically fit, and relatively smart (compared to the other NPCs in the game, just look at the bunch, meh.) She will end up being the most versatile of them all, although not overpowered in any sense. I liked the idea of the original mod to make Miria a real NPC, but sadly she didn't actually get any skills levelling up, and the "new comments" were actually even more annoying in some cases than just being quiet, so those are edited too on the parts I didn't like them myself. This contains Modded files from various sources to make Miria an actual useful NPC. An updated version of the Miria mod by Grandson Of Sam, for Killap's Fallout 2 Restoration Project What is it?
